1. Monitoring of Maintenance Periods:

2. Extension of the Protection Period:
In Rwanda, it is possible to extend the protection period of a registered design twice by 5 years each, for a total protection period of up to 15 years. However, the extension must be requested within the current protection period.
3. Renewal Application and Payment of Fees:
The extension of the design must be requested before the first five years expire to maintain protection. The application and payment of the renewal fee must be submitted to the office no later than six months after the protection period has ended. We take care of the timely submission of the application and payment of the renewal fee.
4. Required Documents and Information:
For the renewal, we only need the registration number of your registered design. Please have this information ready so we can initiate the renewal process quickly and easily. We check all required documents for completeness and ensure that the application is submitted correctly and promptly.
5. Fees and Pricing Structure:
Our prices are per registered design and per protection period, including official fees and applicable VAT, where applicable. The surcharge fee in case of late renewal is not included and will be charged separately. We guarantee a transparent pricing structure, and you will be informed of all costs in advance.
