Renewal of Design in Russia

Upon registration of a design in Russia it shall be protected by a registered industrial design for a period of 15 years from the date of filing the application (or the claimed prior application date). The right holder may have maintained the term of protection for one periods of 10 years.

If a design was filed after the 01.01.2015 it has to be renewed in periods of 5 years to reach the total term of 25 years of protection.

The renewal of a registered design in Russia shall be done by a request, provided that the renewal fee will be paid too. The request for renewal shall be submitted within the last months of the current protection period and the renewal fee shall be paid within the same period. Renewal shall have effect from the expiry of the registration.

A late renewal still may be done in Russia during the six months following the expiry date of the design registration, subject to simultaneous payment of an additional late renewal fee. If this last possibility for a late renewal was failed the design will become free to use.

Our offer relates to the renewal of a single design registration in Romania and includes the general maintenance fee but not the additional fee for late renewal payment in case of failing the general time for renewal.

However, multiple design applications are possible in Russia. Therfore you will have the option to order the renewal of multiple designs of the same registration here too.

Accepting the contract is subject to the circumstance that you will hire us early enough so that the request and the payment of the official fees can be arranged in time.
