Design registration in Bangladesh are for a 15-year term, beginning on the date of filing of the application for registration (or requested prior application date). Once the 15-year term is over, anyone is free to produce, import, rent or sell the design in Bangladesh.
However the registration have to be renewed after 5 years for one or two further consecutive periods of five years upon request and payment of the renewal fee. The fees for the renewal of registration of an design patent must be paid within the current period of protection.
