2. Renewal of Design Protection
Design protection in Argentina can last up to 15 years in total. Protection begins with an initial period of 5 years, starting from the date of filing with the relevant office. This period can be extended twice by 5 years each, allowing for a maximum total protection of 15 years.
To apply for the renewal, the renewal application and payment of renewal fees must occur within the existing protection period. We recommend submitting the renewal request in the last 6 months before the protection period expires to ensure uninterrupted protection.
3. Renewal After Expiration of the Protection Period
If the renewal application or payment is not made on time, there is still an opportunity to apply for the renewal within a 6-month grace period after the protection period ends. However, an additional penalty fee will be incurred. These additional costs arise from the late payment and can significantly increase the longer the payment is delayed.
4. Required Information for Renewal
To proceed with the renewal, we need the registration number of your design and the filing date. This information is necessary to submit the application correctly and on time to the relevant authorities.
5. Costs and Fees
Our prices are charged per design and per protection period and include our fees as well as the official renewal fees. Any additional fees due to late payments or late renewals are not part of the standard offer and will be charged separately.
The offer applies exclusively to the timely renewal of a single design. It does not include the costs for an application for Restoration of the design rights, which is only possible in exceptional cases with valid reasons after the expiration of deadlines.
