Renewal of Industrial Design in Rwanda

Here you can mandate us to file a renewal application for your registered industrial design in Rwanda for the next protection period. We will pay the renewal fees, monitor the duration of protection and keep you informed about the upcoming renewal deadlines.

Industrial design registration in Rwanda is for a 15-years term, beginning on the date of registration. Once the 15-year term is over, anyone is free to produce, import, rent or sell the design in Rwanda. However the registration has to be renewed within the current period of 5 yeras for two further consecutive periods of 5 years each upon renewal request and payment of a renewal fee.

The request and the fees for the renewal of a design registration must be in the hand of the office within the current period of protection.

A grace period of 6 months only is granted which allow a request and a late payment. After these 6 months the renewal will become impossible. Late renewal fees are not included in our offer.

Our offer relates to single industrial design and includes the general renewal fees for one design but not the additional fee for late payment in case of failing the general renewal time limit. Once the general renewal term is failed you may use a 6 months grace period for the renewal.

Accepting the contract is subject to the circumstance that you will hire us early enough so that the request and the payment of the official fees can be arranged in time.
