To proceed with the renewal, we will need the registration number of your design.
2. Renewal of Design Protection
Design protection can be extended up to four times, each time for five years, allowing for a total protection duration of up to 25 years. The renewal is done by submitting an application to the relevant office and timely payment of the necessary renewal fee.
The renewal application must be submitted within the last six months before the expiration of the protection period. If this deadline is missed, the application can still be submitted within six months after the protection period expires, but a surcharge fee will apply.
3. Surcharge for Late Payment
If the renewal fee is paid after the protection period has expired, a surcharge will be applied. This fee is 50% of the regular renewal fee starting from the first month after the expiration of the protection period. The renewal will take effect at the end of the previous protection period, ensuring continuous protection for your design.
4. Required Information for Appointment
